Retaining Accounting Records

All records and papers related to business and personal tax affairs should be kept for a minimum of six years. Six years is the usual time period for tax enquiries and for any other parties to commence legal actions. We'll not destroy original business or personal tax source documents. Where receipts and invoices are sent to us so we can prepare bookkeeping we'll return them to you from time to time, for example once year end accounts have been prepared. Accounts and working papers produced by Virtue will always be kept for at least six years.
